This birthday cake was baked for someone who just recovered from a heart attack two weeks ago. It was her forty-something birthday, and I thought this french vanilla heart cake with rolled fondant bandaids was a perfect fit. I decided to use the phrase “…and many more” which is sometimes added to the tail end of the traditional “Happy Birthday to You” song. It seemed appropriate for someone just recovering from Angioplasty.
I swirled red food coloring into the batter after it was in the pan. This added a very nice marbled effect to the cake when it was sliced.
